Why are the abused angry with Pope Benedict XVI?

Andrew Sullivan gives an example in plain English.

  1. David Wall is correct in saying that “the Roman Catholic Church has the largest body of knowledge of non-incarcerated sexual offenders in the world.

If the pope does not indicate what he intends to do structurally to correct what facilitated such a widespread cover-up of sexual abuse in the church, and not just of children, in his pastoral letter to Ireland which is expected this weekend, then there is little hope for the church as any kind of religious institution, very little. It has little moral crediblity at this moment.
